To use your Virtual Flow Computer (VFC), you need to associate one or more accumulator devices with it. This accumulator gathers volume information from the Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) via the rate record.
To create an Accumulator record from the VFC
-
Do one of the following:
-
From the virtualflowcomputer table, select a virtualflowcomputer record, and select Edit > Functions.
-
From the virtualflowcomputer Row Edit dialog of your desired record, select Functions. For more information on opening a virtualflowcomputer record, see Open a Virtual Flow Computer record.
-
-
Select Create a new Virtual Flow Computer Accumulator.
The Create Virtual Flow Computer Accumulator dialog appears.

-
Do one of the following:
-
Enter a name for the accumulator.
-
Leave the Enter the name of the Accumulator field blank.
The name will default to the name of the parent Virtual Flow Computer, plus the number used to identify the record in the key field in the database. This number is known as the ptnum. For example, if your Virtual Flow Computer (VFC) is named ATVirtualFlowComputer and the ptnum being used to identify the record is 014, the Accumulator name will be ATVirtualFlowComputer014.
-
-
Select Create.
The Create Virtual Flow Computer Accumulator dialog appears.

-
Select Yes.
The accumulator Row Edit dialog appears.
