Develop against the Point of Interest (POI) table

The Point of Interest (POI) table is a generic LMS object that is used as a wrapper over top of a status or multistate point to provide additional context to other applications. POI is meant to be a generic object that presents the following two states to other applications:

  • Enabled

  • Disabled

Any applications that use the POI table can be developed to watch for state changes between the Enabled and Disabled states.

Additionally, the POI table has a flag called "ignore" that is exposed in the Advanced Database Editor (ADE) dialog. The ignore flag is a signal to other applications that the POI record should not be used for executing logic. The state of the ignore flag will not have any effect on how the POI calculates its state. It is important to include the processing of the ignore flag when using POI records.
