A Perspective view is available in Advanced Database Editor (ADE) to show the relationship between a record and its associated records.
For example, a Perspective for a Pipeline Configuration record consists of the remote record as well as the following child records: the anomaly detector adetect records, the interface detector detect records, as well as the node, section and pipe_segment records.
When you open the Perspective root record, the Perspective child records are automatically opened in a stack fashion. Grouping the table records into Perspective root and children records has the following advantages:
-
You can edit all the records in a Perspective from a Perspective Root.
-
You can export a Perspective to Microsoft Excel.
-
You can import a Perspective from Excel.
-
You can create and clone templates using Perspective.
AVEVA Pipeline Operations for Liquids contains five Perspective roots: the Pipeline Configuration, Pipeline Monitor (PLM), Action Sequence, Batch Transfer and Virtual Flow Computer. For more information on perspective views, refer to the Advanced Database Editor (ADE) documentation.
