Steps and execution paths in the Action Sequence are configured using the Action Sequence Designer. It is selected from the Sequence Designer function on the Main tab of the Advanced Database Editor (ADE) for the actionSequence table.
The Action Sequence Designer has a graphical interface that allows each step, represented by a record in the Sequence Step (sequenceStep) table, to be created and configured. The interface provides a display where all steps in the sequence are shown in relation to each other.
Each step can have the following information configured:
-
A command to be executed. This can include the following:
-
The command itself.
-
The command type:
-
Set โ An AVEVA Enterprise SCADA device control such as a valve open or analog setpoint.
-
Function โ A coded routine defined for the RealTime database (RTDB) table that is part of the command.
-
Wait โ This is a period of no action, defined in seconds. No command is run. The period must elapse before the next step is run.
-
Decision โ The evaluation of a logical expression consisting of an input path, a comparison operator, and a comparison value or another input path. The evaluation could result in subsequent execution of a 'true' or 'false' path.
-
-
Information concerning command execution includes the following:
-
Time to wait for command completion.
-
The intended outcome of the command.
-
Number of re-tries to attempt in case of failure.
-
-
The next step to be processed depending on success or failure of the step.
