Processing is disabled if either:
-
The Inhibit checkbox has been selected. This is available to both the Controller and Administrator for configuration. For more information, see Configure the Inhibits tab on the Pipeline Monitor (PLM) r ecord for Administrator configuration, and the section on the PLM Controls dialog of PLM Operations for Controller selection.
-
The Enable auto inhibit checkbox has been selected. A status or multistate point is configured as an auto inhibit point for the plm record, and the status or multistate point is in a state recognized as an inhibiting state. For more information, see Configure the Inhibits tab on the Pipeline Monitor (PLM) r ecord for Administrator configuration.
The effect of the inhibit action is to allow processing but to disable update of new volume change data from the inputs. Data elements used to contain the volume change data during the inhibited interval are set to 0. No period balance alarms are issued while inhibited. The plm record will show stale and not calculating.
When the inhibit condition clears, all volume change from the devices that was missed during the inhibit period is picked up and divided up over the missed interval. A re-enabled PLM will catch up on all of the missed data.
It is up to the Controller to decide whether this missed data is valid. If this data is not valid, a complete or partial reset of the PLM data can be done. Refer to the AVEVA Pipeline Operations for Liquids Controller documentation.
