Batch Transfer (batchXfer) or Virtual Flow Computer (virtualflowcomputer) records in the RealTime database (RTDB) can also act as flow devices. Both operate in an identical fashion except that they exist in different tables. Each provides the product that is flowing through the meter to the Flow Network and is defined as an injection, delivery, or indeterminate flow device based on the value in the ppltask field in the RTDB. This field is configured by an Administrator through Advanced Database Editor (ADE), and is described in more detail in Understand the Ticket Total (TicketTotal) table.
Tanks typically act as a variable flow type as they can quickly change between acting as an injection or delivery device based on conditions. Other types are typically more static because they are either always an injection or delivery device.
