The following procedure describes how to configure the Base Telemetry tab of the prodtype Row Edit dialog.

Base telemetry tab of prodtype row edit dialog

To configure the Base Telemetry

  1. In the Base Density field, provide the base density to the Correction Library.

Note: If a Product Molecular Composition (moleper) source record is used, which supplies National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Correction Library information, then any value in this field will be ignored, and the Base Density information will be calculated and stored in the moleper record.

  2. Enter the Maximum Density.

  3. Enter the Minimum Density.

  4. Select the Product Density Unit that the product is measured in. Possible units for density include the following:

    • none

    • degrees API

    • kg/cu. meter

    • relative density

    • pounds/cu. foot

  5. Enter the Base Pressure.

Note: The Base Pressure is the pressure that the product evaporates at when operating at standard reference temperature. The vaporization pressure of the product at standard operating temperature can be calculated by first determining the median temperature of the product during normal operations, then using this temperature to calculate the vaporization pressure of the product against a standard evaporation curve.

  6. From the Base Pressure Units dropdown, select the units the product is measured in. Possible units for base pressure include the following:

    • none

    • pounds/sq. inch

    • kilopascals

    • bars

    • atmospheres

    • kilogram-force/sq. centimeter

    • inches of water

If Compressible Product in the Main tab is selected, the Base Compressibility field becomes enabled representing the compressibility of the product at base conditions. The recommended compressibility value is as follows:

    • For Ethylene, the supported base conditions for API 11.3.2.1 calculations are 60° Fahrenheit and 14.696 psia, and the recommended value for Base Compressibility is 0.9938.
