Valve shut down flags

Each valve can be configured to notify a Controller of the effect of closing it. This is done through the Advanced Database Editor (ADE) on the Flow Network tab. There are options for when the Flow Path flag should be added, and when it should be removed. For more information on how to configure valves, see Valve Reference.

This flag acts as a predictive indicator to Controllers to indicate the result of closing a valve. A typical configuration is to indicate that the closure of a valve would result in a pump becoming blocked. When the closure of a valve results in a pump blockage, a flow path indication flag will be added to the valve, and the background image updated to the appropriate message set configuration. Displays can be built to rely on this information to provide Controllers with a visual representation that a valve closure would result in a pump being shut down.
