The following section details how to calculate the reasonability of the delta.
To calculate the reasonability of the delta
-
Calculate the flow rate observed for the delta by doing the following:
-
Divide the delta by the time elapsed between the counter readings.
-
-
Compare the flow rate to a configured maximum.
-
If the delta is positive, use the value in the Max Reasonable Flow Rate field for the maximum.
-
If the delta is negative, compare the absolute value of the delta against the value in the Max Reasonable Reverse Flow Rate field.
If the flow rate exceeds the maximum, the delta volume is unreasonable. If the flow rate does not exceed the maximum, the delta volume is reasonable. If the maximum is zero, the delta is always reasonable.
