Understand a Physical valve type

The valve record represents a single status or multistate record. The reference to a status or multistate record is set from the Path field of the valve record. Typically, the status or multistate is a polled field device (hence the name Physical), but it could be a non-polled record as well, that is, a manual or calculated record.
