Migrate SimSuite Pipeline (SSPDraw) Flow Network Models into AVEVA Pipeline Integrity Monitor (SimConstruct)
If you had previously created Flow Network models using SSPDraw you can migrate them to AVEVA Process Simulation (APS) by importing the models into the AVEVA Pipeline Integrity Monitor SimConstruct Integrated Development tool (SimConstruct).
When a Pipeline Flow Network Model is imported into SimConstruct, APS configuration drawing files (*.simx) are automatically generated. Open the *.simx files in APS to edit the Network Flow Model. For more information, see Work with Pipeline Flow Networks using AVEVA Process Simulation (APS).
The following diagram summarizes the data flow for importing legacy SSPDraw Pipeline Flow Networks into SimConstruct and APS.

Notes: When configuring Boundary objects in Flow Network drawings using SimSuite Pipeline (SSP) Integrated Development Environment (IDE) (SSPDraw), the Node Type for Boundary objects is more important. Any Node Type configuration could be selected, and all types would result in the same behaviour within Flow Network applications.
Now, Boundaries can represent two different types of connections: a generic terminal providing a source or destination of product (as seen in AVEVA Pipeline Operations for Liquids 2021 and earlier), or a Flow Network Interconnection, representing a connection to a different Flow Network.
Boundaries in existing SSPDraw drawings should have their Node Types reviewed before they are uploaded. All Boundaries that are meant to represent a source or destination of product should be configured with a Node Type of External Connection. If the Boundary is meant to represent a Flow Network Interconnection, then the Node Type Network Connection should be selected.

A Flow Network Interconnection does not inherently act as a source or destination of product. This only occurs if there is another Flow Network also connected to the same Flow Network Interconnect. If a drawing connects to a Flow Network Interconnect that is not connected to any other Flow Networks, then it will behave as a dead-end.
