Except for pumps and Drag Reducing Agent (DRA) injectors, information is not maintained by the Product Transfer Checking application. The information is stored in the external applications that manage the information and provide an interface that can be called by Product Transfer Checking. These are the following:
-
Tanking: Tank information comes from the tanking application. A command is issued to retrieve the information about the product that is in the tank.
-
Metering-Ticketing: This provides meter information. The meter product information includes the product at the active batch at the meter plus any product in pending batches that will become active when a scheduled volume has been metered that is less than a configured volume zone of interest. A call to the Metering-Ticketing application using a Business Logic Tier (BLT) object provided is used to get this information.
-
Batch Tracking: This provides pipeline information. Pipeline product information includes the product at a specified location configured in Product Transfer Checking (flowxfer) plus any product within a configured volume zone of interest upstream and downstream of the location. A call to the Batch Tracking application using a BLT object provided is used to get this information. If a third-party application is used instead of AVEVA Pipeline Operations for Liquids Batch Tracking, a customized BLT object will have to be created that can use the third-party interface.
