The Meter Prover Control is designed to provide information at a glance about the meter that has been subject to proving. This section is designed to provide you with a brief description of each of the items on the Meter Prover Control window, so that you can better interpret the information.

Prover Data

The following table table describes the Prover Data available in the Meter Prover Control window.

Item

Description

Prover Name

Name of the prover record.

Base Volume

This is the base volume of the prover in m3. This field holds a floating point number with four decimal places of accuracy.

Prover Status

The name of the status point to hold the status of the prover as indicated by the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). The status of the prover as indicated by the PLC is either "busy" or "idle".

Prover SW Status

The Prover SW Status is an internal software status that the application maintains. The statuses available are:

  • Not In Progress — The application is ready to start a new prove.

  • In Progress — The application is performing meter proving.

  • Wait Busy — The application is waiting for the PLC to go into a busy state.

  • Busy Run — The application is waiting for the PLC status to transition to a Transit or Idle state. If the status changes to Busy, it will move on to the next stage. Otherwise, the status will stay in a state of Busy Run.

  • Wait Value — The application interprets the information provided by the analog, rate, and status points and performs temperature, pressure, and density validations in addition to deviation validation, API and Meter Correction Factor (MCF) calculations, and repeatability validation.

Calc Method

The calculation method in use by the prover.

Prover Type

Type of prover in use.

Pipe Thickness

The prover pipe thickness in mm. This field holds a floating point number with one decimal place of accuracy.

Pipe Diameter

The prover pipe diameter in mm.

Seal

If the status point is defined by your Administrator, proving will check for seal failure during the proving sequence. This field will indicate if there are any issues with the seal.

EOR (End of Run)

This field will indicate that the end of run has been achieved.

Meter Data

The following table table describes the Meter Data available in the Meter Prover Control window.

Item

Description

Meter Name

The name of the meter that is associated with the prover.

K-factor

This is the number of pulses per 0.1 m³ for this meter. This field holds an integer value.

Max Count Deviation

This is the maximum count deviation allowed for this meter. If the difference between the minimum and maximum pulse counts is greater than this value, you cannot accept the Meter Correction Factor (MCF) result.

Current Count Deviation

This field holds the absolute value of the difference between maximum and minimum number of counts for the four runs. If this value is greater than the allowable limit, the application marks the runs in violation by putting a (*) next to the count number for those runs. You cannot accept the MCF if this value is greater than the allowable limit. You must reprove the faulty runs, or complete an autoprove (prove 4 runs) to clear this situation.

Max Repeatability %

This field lists the maximum allowed deviation of prover run counts.

Current Repeatability %

This field lists the current value of the prover as it goes along. A run is marked as bad if the current repeatability % exceeds the maximum repeatability %.

No. Runs to Prove

Number of runs left to prove.
