Understand how the pressure sample is checked for deviations

The fields that govern how the pressure sample is checked for deviations constitute algorithm information. The pressure sample can be the value of a single pressure telemetry point, or the difference between the values of a pair of such points.
The table below describes the algorithm information appearing on the Pressure Monitor Control window.
Field |
Description |
|---|---|
Sample Size |
The number of previous pressure and flow rate values used in determining the next predicted value. Valid numbers are 2 to 15. |
Flow Period (min) |
When a pressure alarm condition is detected, this timer is started and the application starts checking all associated flow points for deviation alarms. For each flow alarm detected, the timer is restarted. When the timer runs out, all flow checking for this Pressure / Flow Monitoring (pressmon) record stops. Pressure deviation checking continues at normal intervals. In other words, if no flow alarm conditions are detected during this time period, flow deviation checking for this record stops. |
2nd Deadband |
The number of consecutive telemetry samples that must be in violation of the second deadband before AVEVA Enterprise SCADA issues a pressure alarm. |
Allow Flow Alarm |
If this field reads Yes, AVEVA Enterprise SCADA can issue deviation alarms and events for flow rates without annunciating the pressure alarm. The pressure threshold has been violated but does not alarm unless flow also violates the alarm condition for pressure. If this field reads No, AVEVA Enterprise SCADA must issue a pressure alarm before issuing any flow alarms. (Pressure must be in alarm before it checks flow.) |
Inhibit |
If this field reads Yes, then no calculations are done on this pressmon record. |
Auto Reset |
If this field reads Yes, this pressmon record will reset all of its internal variables whenever communication is restored to any of its pressure or flow data points. This reset action includes the samples retained for averaging (refer to Sample Size, described previously). |
Overall Alarm State |
Indicates which pressure and/or flow conditions are in alarm. This can be:
Method |
Configured method of monitoring pressure. Options are:
Alarm Currently Suppressed |
This field is intended to indicate whether alarming is suppressed using the Alarm Suppression utility. |
