Determine alarm limit adjustments for trigger

  • Last UpdatedApr 24, 2025
  • 1 minute read

Adjustments are calculated for each balance period in use.

If the Hold Interval is in Effect

If Adjustment Type is Factor, the amount of adjustment to the alarm limit is a factor of the magnitude of the alarm limit:

  • adjustment to upper limit = configured Alarm Over Limit for balance period X configured Upper Deviation Limit Adjustment for the type of balanced period (short-term, long-term, or extended-term).

  • adjustment to lower limit = configured Alarm Short Limit for balance period X configured Lower Deviation Limit Adjustment for the type of balanced period (short-term, long-term, or extended-term).

If Adjustment Type is Value, the amount of adjustment to the alarm limit is directly applied:

  • adjustment to upper limit = configured Upper Deviation Limit Adjustment for the type of balanced period (short-term, long-term, or extended-term).

  • adjustment to lower limit = configured Lower Deviation Limit Adjustment for the type of balanced period (short-term, long-term, or extended-term).

If the Decay Interval is in Effect

Both the upper limit adjustment and lower limit adjustment are calculated in the following way:

  1. Get the adjustment calculated for the Hold interval.

  2. Get adjustment reduction per Pipeline Monitor (PLM) processing iteration. This is the Hold interval adjustment divided by the configured Decay Time.
