The Product Injection Verification and Control (productInjectionVerification) Business Logic Tier (BLT) activates a check using the Product Transfer Checking (flowXfer) record to determine whether there are any incompatibilities between the contents of a source Meter (Virtual Flow Computer [virtualflowcomputer] or Batch Transfer [batchXfer]) and a destination Pipeline Station (node). Depending on the results of that comparison, the BLT sends an ON or OFF command to a status or multistate point.
The following table details the input parameter for the productInjectionVerification BLT.
|
Argument |
Type |
Description |
|---|---|---|
|
flowXferName |
String |
The name of the flowXfer record that is to be processed. Note: An asterisk (*) can be used to loop through all flowXfer records. |
The following table details the output parameters for the productInjectionVerification BLT.
|
Argument |
Type |
Description |
|---|---|---|
|
result |
Integer |
Error code determining success or failure. An error code of 0 indicates the request was successfully processed. An error code of -1 indicates the request could not be successfully processed. |
|
message |
String |
The error message indicating the reason for the processing failure. |
Internally, the BLT performs the verification as follows:
-
Access the flowXfer record.
-
Check to ensure the Global Permissive associated with the ProductInjectionGlobalPermissive BLT is enabled before proceeding.
-
Access the injection source (virtualflowcomputer or batchXfer record) and determine the current flowing product.
-
Access the destination Pipeline Station (node) and determine the products flowing in the pipeline at that location and in the Upstream Zone and Downstream Zone specified in the flowXfer destination parameters.
-
Compare the product flowing at the source and the product flowing at the destination to determine compatibility based on an exact product match.
-
If the products at the source and destination are incompatible, send a configured OFF command to the status or multistate point.
-
If the products at the source and destination are compatible, send a configured ON command to the status or multistate point.
-
If zero flow rate is detected at the destination, do not send any commands to the status or multistate point.
-
-
The BLT observes a Control Delay (in minutes) as configured in the flowXfer record. At the time of the compatibility check, if the specified Control Delay has not passed since the previous command was sent, the BLT will not send another command to the same status /multistate point.
