The items on the Alarming tab of the accumulator Row Edit dialog are designed to allow you to define the alarms associated with the accumulator record.

To configure the Alarming tab of the accumulator record

  1. From the virtualflowcomputer Row Edit dialog of your desired record, create an accumulator record. For more information on creating an accumulator record, see Create an Accumulator record.

The accumulator Row Edit dialog appears.

  2. Select the Alarming tab.

    The Alarming tab appears.

Note: The Name and Virtual Flow Computer fields are read-only. These fields are populated when you create your accumulator record.

  3. (Optional) In the Description field, enter a description.

  4. In the Maximum Bad Deltas field, enter the number of consecutive invalid counter results that must occur before a violation condition is declared. If 0 is entered, no violation condition or resulting alarm will occur.

  5. From the Jump Alarm Severity dropdown, select the alarm severity to be associated with a jump in the flow rate values. The following is an example of a jump in the flow rate values:

    • 1001, 1002, 1003, 3001 (jump), 3002 (the rate of change is stable; this indicates the recovery flow rate), 3003

In this instance, while the jump was sudden, after the jump occurred the increases remained consistent.

  6. From the Spike Alarm Severity dropdown, select the alarm severity to be associated with a spike in the flow rate values. The following is an example of a spike in the flow rate:

    • 20, 22, 24, 65 (spike), 28

This example indicates a sudden change and then a return to the usual pattern, skipping the 26 in place of the spike and continuing at 28.

  7. From the Bad Delta Violation Alarm Severity dropdown, select the alarm severity to be associated with a violation condition that produces an alarm.
