Define Pipe Segment records

Pipe_segment records are the primary component of the pipeline. They define the physical characteristics of the actual pipe used to transport the fluid. The number of pipe_segment records used in defining the pipeline depends both on pipeline topology and on how finely the physical distinctions between portions of pipe need to be made. For example, in cases where pipe diameter is changing, you may decide to average this over a single pipe_segment record or represent these differences by creating multiple pipe_segment records.
Direction in pipe_segments
Descriptions will refer to direction in terms of flow direction: upstream or downstream. This usually means the direction in which flow normally occurs. In some cases, however, flow direction can be reversed. When this happens, actual direction will be the opposite of normal direction. Typical usage of the terms ‘upstream’ and ‘downstream’ means the direction in which flow normally occurs, not what may be happening at any given point in time.
