Configure the Density Check tab of the DRAInjector record

The Drag Reducing Agent (DRA) Density Check involves using the configured Densitometer Analog to get a reading on the current density of the product at the DRA Injector. That reading is then compared to the range between the Maximum Density and Minimum Density associated with specific product types (configured on the Product Type (prodtype) table).

If the density reported by the densitometer is within the Maximum Density and Minimum Density range of any products listed, each product it fits within is checked to see if it has an entry in the Product Compatibility (prodcompat) table, and if it does, a check occurs to ensure that the product is designated DRA-compatible.

If the density is inside the range of a product that is designated DRA-incompatible, a violation will occur, causing an alarm to be raised and safety measures to be taken (shutting down the DRA injector, if Automatic DRA Shutdown is enabled).

Note: Ensure that you have an analog point configured to gather the density information. For more information, refer to the AVEVA Enterprise SCADA Administrator documentation.
Ensure that your prodgroup and prodtype have been configured, including the Maximum Density and Minimum Density information for each product that could flow past the DRA Injector. For more information, see Common Utilities.
The batchXfer records can now be associated with the DRA Injector.
If all of these prerequisites have been met, the Densitometer Analog listed on the Density Check tab will provide density reading information, and the DRA Injector is able to detect violations.

To configure the Density Check tab of the DRAInjector record

  1. Open the DRAInjector record. For more information on opening a DRAInjector record, see Opening the Drag Reducing Agent Injector (DRAInjector) Record.

The DRAInjector Row Edit dialog appears.

  2. Select the Density Check tab.

    The Density Check tab appears.

  3. To enable the density checking, select the Enable checkbox.

  4. In the Densitometer Analog field, click (...) to select the analog point used to detect the density of a product flowing by the injector. If the density is within the Maximum and Minimum Density ranges of a DRA-incompatible product, an alarm is raised and safety measures are taken based on the configuration.
