Use the Virtual Flow Computer (VFC) Control window to view information about about a VFC. Use the window to perform the following operations:
-
View the data that is actively being calculated by the application.
-
Set up Volume targets. For more information, see Use Countdown to create and track volume targets for a Virtual Flow Computer (VFC).
-
Control how the total volume is being processed. You can perform three main operations:
-
Control of accumulator record data processing. Select a row header in the Accumulators Associated with this Virtual Flow Computer section to open the Accumulator Override Control dialog for the accumulator selected. This will allow you to make modifications to the accumulator information that is being provided. For more information, see Override default values and reset Weighted Averages from the Accumulator Override Control window.
-
Control the total volume that is being processed. Select Control Menu to open the VFC Controls dialog. For more information, see Modify the total volume calculations from the VFC Controls dialog.
-
View and reset the periodic integration block. Select Periodic Integration to open the VFC Periodic integration block dialog. For more information, see View and reset VFC Periodic Aggregation counters from the VFC Periodic Aggregation display.
-
-
Gain access to other associated applications. For example, the Batch Transfer application can be accessed and alarms issued against the virtualflowcomputer record can be viewed from the VFC Controls dialog.

The following table details the items on the Virtual Flow Computer Control window.
Group |
Fields |
Description |
|---|---|---|
Name |
The name of the VFC. |
Description |
The description of the VFC. |
Current Status |
The status of the VFC. This provides an indication of whether the VFC is in an alarming, stale, or an error state, or in simulation mode. |
Inhibit |
Indicates whether or not the virtualflowcomputer record is currently being processed. |
Product Type |
The product type of the ticket. |
Dens Units |
Units of density measurement (for example, American Petroleum Institute [API] gravity). The units are defined by the unit profile. |
Pres Units |
Units of pressure measurement (for example, pound per square inch). The units are defined by the unit profile. |
Temp Units |
Units of temperature measurement (for example, degree Fahrenheit). The units are defined by the unit profile. |
Vol Units |
Units of volume measurement. The units are defined by the unit profile. |
GSV |
The Gross Standard Volume (GSV) the ticket has recorded. |
NSV |
The Net Standard Volume (NSV). This value is equal to the GSV with sediment and water volume removed. |
CSW |
Correction factor for the presence of sediment and water in crude oil. This value is never greater than 1.0000. |
Total Flow Rate |
The sum of the Gross Standard (GS) flow rates for all accumulators. |
Mass |
The sum of all accumulator masses. |
Countdown |
For more information, see Understand Countdown. |
Accumulator |
Name |
The name of the accumulator. |
Inh |
This field indicates whether or not the processing of the accumulator is inhibited. |
IV |
The raw, uncorrected volume. |
GSV |
Gross Standard Volume (GSV). The indicated volume corrected to standard temperature and pressure. |
Flow Rate |
The current flow rate on the meter corrected to standard temperature and pressure. |
Mass |
The accumulator calculated mass based on accumulator volume and density. |
Accumulator Reading |
The underlying rate point's accumulated value. |
Manual |
Indicates whether the current or starting accumulator reading is a manually entered value. Each letter listed in the box is designed to correspond with the Density, Temperature, Pressure, Meter Correction Factor (MCF) values listed in the Accumulator Override Control window. |
MCF |
The Meter Correction Factor (MCF). This value is a compensation factor which accounts for non-ideal mechanical effects such as bearing friction, fluid drag and mechanical or electrical readout drag. For more information, see Understand Meter Factors. |
CTL |
Temperature Correction factor for Liquids (CTL). |
CPL |
Pressure Correction factor for Liquids (CPL). |
Temperature |
Provides the observed temperature information. |
Pressure |
Provides the observed pressure information. |
Density |
Provides the observed density information. |
Rate in Manual |
Provides an indication of whether the rate point that provides flow rate information to the accumulator is being manually controlled. To change the RealTime vs. Manual setting of the rate point, navigate to the Rate Control window. For more information, refer to the AVEVA Enterprise SCADA HMI Administrator documentation. |
Fresh |
Indicates whether or not the rate point that is supplying information to the accumulator has polled successfully.
