Configuring the Targets tab enables you to track the movement of the tank’s volume levels.

To configure the Targets tab on the Tank Record

  1. Open the tank record. For more information on opening a tank record, see Opening the Tank Record.

The tank Row Edit dialog appears.

  2. Select the Targets tab.

    The Targets tab appears.

  3. If you would like to enable the tank target Indicated Volume (IV) and/or Gross Standard Volume (GSV) calculations, select the Enable checkbox.

  4. In the Warning Time field, enter a target warning time. The Tanking application generates an alarm when this much time remains before the tank target is reached.

  5. In the ETA Change Tolerance field, enter a tolerance (in seconds) for changes to the Time to Empty/Fill Alarm generation after the estimated time of arrival (ETA) changes.

Notes: The constant calculation of the time to empty/fill may cause the Time to Empty/Fill Alarm to change by a few seconds up or down depending on the flow rate. These minor rounding changes, due to constant calculation, can cause excessive alarms on the tank record. In order to prevent these alarms, an ETA Change Tolerance can be set.

When the calculated ETA changes, the Time to Empty/Fill Alarm will be regenerated if it meets the conditions. If the change in the ETA is less than the specified tolerance in seconds, the Time to Empty/Fill Alarm will not be regenerated.
