Understand Valve Line Blockage events

  • Last UpdatedApr 24, 2025

The following table lists events that are generated by Line Blockage related to valves. If a valve has a status or multistate configured as its telemetry source, alarms and events will be generated against this point rather than the valve record.

Event Text

Description

Flow Path flag added to valve

An event that occurs whenever a change in topography results in the Flow Path flag on a valve being added. This addition indicates that the valve's closure would result in a pump blockage. This event can be inhibited as part of inhibiting off-normal event logging.

Flow Path flag removed from valve

An event that occurs whenever a change in topography results in the Flow Path flag on a valve being removed. This removal indicates that the valve's closure would no longer result in a pump blockage. This event can be inhibited as part of inhibiting off-normal event logging.

Logic Excluded Mode Timer started. Logic state will revert in <minutes> minutes

A valve's logic mode has been changed out of In Service with a timer configured. After the indicated duration, the logic mode will revert to In Service.

Logic Excluded Mode Timer reset. Logic state will revert in <minutes> minutes

A valve's logic mode timer was reset. The countdown to when the logic mode will be reverted is restarted to the configured duration.

Logic Excluded Mode Timer canceled

A timer to automatically revert the logic mode was canceled.

Logic Excluded Mode Timer expired. Reverting to 'In Service'.

A timer expired and the logic mode reverted back to In Service.

An override was performed for <type> by <username> at <location>

An event generated when you override a warning when executing a command on a valve.

Shut Down: Executed in stations <upstream station> -> <downstream station> due to valve <valve name> command <command> by <username> at <location>

An event generated when a pump or pumps in a station or range of stations is automatically shut down due to a valve command.

Notes: This event is only generated when the shut downs occurring are in Flow Network models configured to use Model-Based Alarming.

This event is generated for the Flow Network (fnet) record that contains the station range specified in the event message.

Valve reversal command sent, current direction unknown, setting state to {0}

An event generated when a valve state is reversed.

Modified logic state from '[previous state]' to '{[current state}'

An event generated when the valve logic state is modified, for example: Modified logic state from '{0}' to '{1}').
