Calculate tank smoothed Gross Observed Volume (GOV) and Gross Standard Volume (GSV) flow rates

The smoothed Gross Observed Volume (GOV) flow rate is the average flow rate based on a Basic Exponential Smoothing filter. The exponential smoothing algorithm filters out noise while maintaining an acceptable level of responsiveness to level changes in the tank. The smoothed GOV flow rate is calculated for each Krunch cycle as follows:

The smoothing factor is a value greater than 0.0 and less than or equal to 1.0, used to tune the exponential smoothing algorithm. Specifying a smoothing factor closer to 1.0 will produce an average that gives more weight to the current GOV Flow Rate. Whereas a smoothing factor closer to 0.0 will produce an average that gives more weight to the previous smoothed GOV Flow Rate. You can configure the smoothing factor using the Flowrate Smoothing Factor field on the Tank Configuration tab. For more information, see Configuring the Tank Configuration Tab on the Tank Record.

The smoothed Gross Standard Volume (GSV) flow rate is the smoothed GOV flow rate corrected to standard temperature. The smoothed GSV flow rate is calculated each Krunch cycle as follows:
