Correct the tank volume from Gross Observed Volume (GOV) to Gross Standard Volume (GSV)
This correction is necessary only if the polled volume has not already been corrected. For more information, see Understanding Correction of Level.

where:
GSV is Gross Standard Volume
GOV is Gross Observed Volume
CTL is Volume Correction Factor for Temperature
GOVs are converted to GSVs using the temperature and density of the liquid in the tank.
The current American Petroleum Institute (API) density is first determined according to the Density Source field on the Analogs tab. For more information, see Configuring the Analogs Tab of the Tank Record.
-
If the Density Source dropdown list is set to From telemetry, then the tank's density analog point is used. This observed value can either be telemetered or manually entered. When the analog point is manually overridden, the telemetered values are not lost. If the tank does not have a density analog, the analog point should be set to a null value. Manual values can still be entered, but they will reside entirely within the tank record. The analog point can have density corrections performed on it. Selecting the Density Corrected checkbox will allow you to select whether or not the API density or specific gravity has been subject to correction. If it is uncorrected, the API density is calculated using the following API tables: 5A or 5B (for 60 °F); 53A or 53B (for 15 °C).
-
If the density selection is set to From Product table (corrected), the API gravity is determined from the product in the tank. When using this option, the density from the product is considered to be corrected.
Once the API gravity is determined, the Temperature Correction Factor (CTL) is calculated. This is done using the tank temperature analog (which can be a telemetered analog value or a manually overridden value), the calculated API gravity, and API tables based on the Correction Library selected for the prodgroup of the product being corrected.
Once the CTL is calculated, it is then multiplied by the GOV to obtain a GSV.
