AVEVA Pipeline Operations for Liquids

Action Sequence

AVEVA Pipeline Operations for Liquids supports the creation of Action Sequence objects within the RealTime database (RTDB). These allow the orderly execution of a series of commands and set points to valves, pumps, and other objects defined by status, analog, or multistate points as well as other AVEVA Pipeline Operations for Liquids tables and modules.

In the event that the standard order of commands fails to execute, your Administrator may have configured a failsafe that provides an alternative to the standard action sequence. This is known as a failure path. If there is a failure, the steps outlined in the failure path will be executed.

For information about how the steps in the action sequence are recorded, including steps associated with failure paths, see Using the Action Sequence Step Summary Window to View Individual Steps.

The sequence is configured by the Administrator and may be activated by you.

This document will explain how to access and control Action Sequences.

Note: Components on the control displays are enabled or disabled based on the current active mode's privileges. This is configured through the records' controllable privileges in DistribuSyS. If you do not have permission to control the record, the following message will appear on your control displays: Active mode prohibits control from this system. Talk to your Administrator for more information.
