Virtual Flow Computer (virtualflowcomputer) records can receive one of the following Pipeline task designations:

  • Receipt — A type of meter that measures liquid being injected into the pipeline at a receipt location and is used by the Batch Tracking application for this purpose.

  • Delivery — A type of meter that measures liquid being removed from the pipeline at a delivery location and is used by the Batch Tracking application for this purpose.

  • Enroute — A type of meter that measures flow within the pipeline itself. The Batch Tracking application does not make use of this type.

  • Pseudo — A type of meter where flow is derived from a calculation rather than a flow measurement device. The Batch Tracking application does not make use of this type.

  • None — This task designation indicates that the Batch Transfer flow rate will be considered to be 0 for Batch Tracking purposes.

These tasks help you to identify what role the Virtual Flow Computer (VFC) plays in a batch tracking situation. It does not have any impact on processing of the VFC.
