Create links between steps to construct an Action Sequence in the Action Sequence Designer.
To link Action Sequence steps
-
Open the Action Sequence Designer for the Action Sequence of interest. For more information on how to open the Action Sequence Designer, see Open an Action Sequence in the Action Sequence Designer.
The Action Sequence Designer window opens:

-
Do one of the following:
-
Insert a new Action Sequence step into the Action Sequence. For more information on how to insert an Action Sequence Step into an Action Sequence, see Insert new Action Sequence Steps.
-
Identify the existing Action Sequence step you wish to link.
-
-
Depending on the step type selected, do one of the following:
-
For Set, Wait, and Function steps, drag the mouse from the Out port of one Action Sequence step to the In port of the next Action Sequence step.
The Action Sequence Designer displays the updated link.

Note: If the next step in the Action Sequence does not exist, you can insert a new step by dragging the mouse from the Out port of the existing step to an empty location on the Action Sequence Designer window and selecting a new step from the Action Sequence Step Type menu that appears.
-
For Decision steps, proceed as follows:
-
Drag the mouse from the True port of the Action Sequence step to the In port of the first Action Sequence step of the true path.
-
Drag the mouse from the False port of the Action Sequence step to the In port of the first Action Sequence step of the false path.
The Action Sequence Designer displays the updated links.

Note: If the next steps in the Action Sequence do not exist, you can insert new steps by dragging the mouse from the True and False ports of the existing Decision step to an empty location on the Action Sequence Designer window and selecting a new step from the Action Sequence Step Type menu that appears.
-
-
-
Click Save to save the changes to the Action Sequence.
Notes: The Action Sequence Designer automatically checks whether links between Action Sequence steps are valid.
Every Action Sequence Step should have its In port linked to an Out port (or, if applicable, the True or False port) of either the start node, or another Action Sequence Step. If this is not the case, you will be prevented from saving the Action Sequence.
You can link the Out ports of two or more Action Sequence steps to the In port of a single Action Sequence step. This allows you to merge Action Sequence steps. For more information, see Merge Action Sequence Steps.
You can configure failure paths for Decision and Set steps by linking the step Failure port to the In port of the first step of an Action Sequence failure path. For more information, see Link Action Sequence Steps to failure paths.
