Command a Synthetic Valve

When a valve is configured as a Synthetic PLC-based or a Synthetic SCADA host-based valve, sending an Open, Close, or Stop command will cause additional validation to occur. Synthetic valve-types are a composite collection of other physical, logical, or synthetic valves. An open or close command sent to a synthetic valve is interpreted as a potential open or close command to all valves that it represents.
Therefore, any line blockage or product transfer validation that would occur on any of the valves the synthetic valve represents is also performed prior to a command being sent and will be reported to you.
To command a synthetic valve
-
On the Valve Summary, select the row header of the valve record you wish to command.
The Valve Control dialog appears.

-
Select Open, Close or Stop to command the state of the valve.
You cannot modify the logic mode of a Synthetic PLC-based or a Synthetic SCADA host-based valve, as it is automatically calculated based on the logical state of the physical valves it represents.
If a valve is configured as a Logical Valve, then commands cannot be sent, and you cannot set the logic mode.
