To access the Reflex Control dialog

  1. On the Reflex Summary window, select the row header of the reflex record that you would like to view.

    The Reflex Control dialog appears.

The following table describes the items available on the Reflex Control dialog.

Field

Description

(Top Left)

Name of the reflex record and its description. For example, "RFXTST01_AS01" and "Reflex Test 01".

Current Status

The status of the reflex record.

Trigger Path

The point and field to monitor. All changes to this point will be checked against the Required Trigger State to see if the reflex should be triggered.

If the point is in the Required Trigger State, the reflex will trigger once. It will not trigger again until the Trigger Path point has left the Required Trigger State and re-entered it.

Trigger Value

The current value retrieved from the Trigger Path.

Required Trigger State

To trigger the reflex, the Trigger Value field must transition into this Required Trigger State. When this happens, if the Data Quality Threshold is met or subsequently met while it remains in the Required Trigger State, the Time Until Execution will start decrementing. The reflex must remain in the Required Trigger State until the Time Until Execution reaches zero, at which point the Action Sequences will be executed. If the reflex leaves the Required Trigger State before the Time Until Execution reaches zero, the countdown is canceled, and the Action Sequences are not executed.

Data Quality Threshold

The required quality threshold that must be met and surpassed for a reflex to be triggered. This threshold is checked when the Trigger Value changes.

In order of best to worst, the quality indicators that are checked are as follows:

  • Fresh

  • Offscan

  • Stale and Onscan

  • Manual

  • Error

If a data quality lower than threshold is detected, the reflex will fail data quality validation.

For example, assume that your Administrator has set a Data Quality Threshold of Fresh and the record is Fresh, but the Error indicator is also detected.

If the Trigger Path field is in the Required Trigger state, but the Data Quality Threshold is not met, the Reflex Monitor application will monitor the data quality fields of the Trigger Path and will re-check them on every change, starting the reflex when the Data Quality Threshold is met or surpassed.

Timeout (s)

The amount of time (in seconds) the reflex is required to remain in the Trigger State, after the Data Quality Threshold has been met, before executing the configured Action Sequences. If the reflex leaves the Trigger State during the countdown, the countdown is canceled and the Action Sequences are not executed.

Notes: If a Timeout (s) has not been entered, the reflex record will execute its Action Sequences immediately when it is triggered.

The Timeout (s) value used by the Reflex application may be overridden by a third-party application. When this occurs, an Overridden label will appear next to the Timeout (s) field.

Time Until Execution (s)

The time (in seconds) remaining that the reflex must stay in the Required Trigger State in order to proceed with executing the Action Sequences.

When the value reaches 0, all Action Sequences in the grid below will be executed. This field will only display values when the reflex is in an Executing or Paused state. For all other states (for example, IDLE), this value will be blank.

Note: In the event that your data quality and/or configuration changes during this time period, these changes will not be accounted for. The only thing that is being monitored for while counting down is the state of the Trigger Value.

Time of Last Execution

This is the last date and time the Action Sequence(s) was executed.

Note: This date and time does not imply successful execution of Action Sequence(s). When a reflex successfully completes a countdown, prior to invoking the execution of associated Action Sequences, the Time of Last Execution timestamp is updated on the reflex record.

Pause

Enabled when the reflex record is active (uninhibited) and Executing. When clicked, this will set the state of the record to Paused and will cause the countdown to stop.

Resume

Enabled when the reflex record is uninhibited and Paused. When clicked, this will set the state of the record to Executing and will cause the countdown to resume.

Trigger Control

Select to open the Control display for the trigger point used for the reflex. This will enable you to exert some control over the point that supplies trigger information.

Action Sequences

A grid showing all configured Action Sequence records that are executed by the reflex record when it is triggered. Selecting a row header will open the Control Panel for that Action Sequence.

Name

The name of the Action Sequence record.

Description

The user-provided description of the Action Sequence record.

Status

The status of the Action Sequence record. This will indicate if the Action Sequence is Idle, Executing, Completed or any of the other states.
