When creating a generic hydraulic profile display that may be used for multiple pipelines or multiple sections of a pipeline, the start and end locations of the hydraulic profile can be set programmatically using the following function:

OASySDNA.ClientFormsSDK.DNAChartControl.DNAPlot.ReplaceParameterAtIndexForPen(penname as String, value as String, parameter as Integer)

Where:

  • penname is the Pen Title as defined in the Chart Control Configuration wizard, for example, Flow Rate, as indicated in Understand the AVEVA Pipeline Operations for Liquids Hydraulic Profile.

  • value is the new value for the parameter, such as the start node or the end node name.

  • parameter is the position value that is used to control which input argument is mapped to which BLT parameter.

The following example shows how this can be programmatically assigned. The display LMS_PRESSURE_PROFILE can also be used as an example of a template for a generic hydraulic profile.

Imports OASySDNA.ClientFormsSDK.DNAChartControl

Dim pressureProfile As DNAPlot = pressureChartName.CreateChartObject(ChartControl.ChartType.Plot)
Dim startNodeName As String
Dim endNodeName As String

pressureProfile.ReplaceParameterAtIndexForPen("Flow Rate", startNodeName, 0)
pressureProfile.ReplaceParameterAtIndexForPen("Flow Rate", endNodeName, 1)
