The basic properties of the record are defined on the Main tab of the batchXferSource Row Edit dialog.

To define the basic properties of the Batch Transfer Source (batchXferSource) record

  1. Open the batchXferSource record. For more information on the how to open the record, see Create the information source for the Batch Transfer (BatchXfer) record.

    The batchXferSource Row Edit appears.

Note: The Name field cannot be changed from the Row Edit dialog. A name can only be assigned or generated at record creation. For more information on creating a batchXferSource record, see Create the information source for the Batch Transfer (BatchXfer) record.

  2. (Optional) To change the description, in the Description field, enter a description.

Note: The Group, Dataset, and Batch Transfer fields are read-only. The values in these fields are taken from the parent batchXfer record.

  3. From the Source Type dropdown, select a source type to which the batchXferSource belongs.

This field defines the device type that the batchXferSource record will connect to. This value will determine the plugin type that is loaded when data processing takes place:

    • Rate โ€” A record within the rate table provides a Gross Standard Volume (GSV) for the batch transfer.

    • Tank โ€” A record within the tank table provides a GSV, Gross Observed Volume (GOV), density, temperature, and flow rate for the batch transfer.

    • Meter โ€” A record within the vituralflowcomputer table will provide GSV, GOV, density, pressure, temperature, and flow rate for the batch transfer.

    • Flow Computer โ€” An external flow computer will provide information based on the type of flow computer that is being connected to.

Note: Assigned input sources will include all possible devices that can be used at the location. Not all devices may be available for the location at the same time. Flow routing through manifolds at the station may have some devices enabled for a different location. In this case, all are still assigned, and it is left to the Administrator and the Controller to enable and disable the input sources as their usage changes.

The same device could serve as an input source to multiple Batch Transfer locations. However the device would only be enabled for one location at a time.

  4. In the Source Path field, click (...) to select the path to the point that is providing volume and telemetry information for the batchXferSource.

The Output Point Path Selector appears. Depending on the Source Type selected, the available tables for this field will change. For example, if you selected a Source Type of Tank, you will only be able to select Tanks. You must select a table and record before clicking Accept. If the table and record are not selected, a warning message will appear. For more information about how to select a pathway, refer to Volume 1 of the RealTime Administrator documentation.

  5. In the Reset Path field, select (...) to define the table, record, and field that the FNPUT command specified in the Command field will be sent to whenever a Batch Start occurs.

The Output Point Path Selector appears.

  6. In the Command field, enter the FNPUT command that will be sent to the table and point set in the Reset Path whenever a batch start occurs.
