Understand the tank Temperature Correction Factor (CTL)

Note: This step can be skipped if the level has already been provided as a Gross Standard Volume (GSV).

The volume correction factor for temperature (CTL) is needed to calculate the GSV and may also be needed when applying the Gross Observed Volume (GOV) corrections.

The calculation is done according to the methods established by the American Petroleum Institute (API).

Inputs to the API method are the observed temperature, corrected density, and the table of corrections to use as defined for the product in the tank. If available density is an observed density, then it must be corrected to standard temperature.
