Configure the DRA Rate Management tab of the DRAInjector record

The Drag Reducing Agent (DRA) Rate Management tab contains the configuration parameters for the following two functions:

  • To ensure that the volume flowing past the DRA Injector meets or exceeds the configured minimum required by the injector.

  • To configure the concentration of DRA that should be injected into the pipeline. This concentration is used by the system to determine the rate of injection based on the flow rate of the pipeline at the injection point.

Depending on your method of rate management selection, you will enable different configurations of the DRA Rate Management tab. Your options are as follows:

  • None โ€” Disable DRA Rate Management functionality. In this instance, you are unable to configure the DRA Rate Management tab.

  • Calculated โ€” Allow the DRA Injector to control the rate at which the injector will run based on the Calculations and Flow Rates for Calculations configurations. For more information, see Working with Injection Rate Control.

  • Setpoint Lookup โ€” Allow the DRA Injector to leverage the DRA Setpoint Lookup feature to control setpoints sent to the field device. This method is used when the DRA injection rates are provided by a third-party application and then imported into the AVEVA Pipeline Operations for Liquids system using the DRA Import Application Program Interface (API). For more information on how to use the DRA import API, refer to the AVEVA Pipeline Operations for Liquids Developer documentation.
