The information that the product transfer relies on to function correctly is gathered from other tables that are directly linked to a remote device or flow computer out in the field. Commonly, these are the Status or Multistate tables, although others are used.
The information that is received from the device or flow computer by the tables is often a numeric value. This numeric value, in turn, needs to be associated with a human-readable message that the Controller can comprehend and respond to. This is the work of the Message Set table. For more information, refer to Volume 1 of the RealTime Administrator documentation.
-
Valve Closed States on the Main tab of the Product Transfer Checking (flowxfer) Row Edit dialog. There are two tables that can provide valve information: the Status and Multistate tables. They are usually associated with a message set of the same name, though this is configurable. The Message Set table, in turn, provides the state information to the valve.
-
Pump Running States and Pump Stopped States on the Source tab of the flowxfer Row Edit dialog. These are only applicable if you have selected Pump, Drag Reducing Agent, or Meter as your Source Reference.
-
For the Pump or Drag Reducing Agent (DRA), the Status and Multistate tables provide information. They are usually associated with a message set of the same name, although this is configurable.

-
Shutdown Command on the DRA tab of the flowxfer Row Edit dialog—the message set used here is the same one used for your Source Reference.
-
If the Additional Violation Check on the DRA tab of the flowxfer Row Edit is configured, you will need to select the message set associated with the table used to provide the Violation Detector information.
