The Main tab of the Flow Network Route (fnetRoute) Row Edit dialog is used to set up the basic properties of the route. It allows you to edit the Source and Destination, as well as the basic information required for AVEVA Enterprise SCADA to run successfully.

The following table details the items on Main tab of the fnetRoute Row Edit dialog.

Items

Description

Name

The name of the Flow Network Route record. This value must conform to basic AVEVA Enterprise SCADA naming conventions and be unique for all Flow Network Route records.

Description

The description of the Flow Network Route record. This field allows the Administrator to enter a brief description of the Flow Network Route record.

Safety Related

Selecting this checkbox indicates that this Flow Network Route is safety related, allowing the Controller to quickly prioritize important Flow Network Routes.

Group

Click (...) to select the group assignment to which the Flow Network Route record belongs. The group Select dialog appears.

Dataset

Click (...) to associate this record with the privileges assigned for each system and mode. Once a record is assigned to a dataset value, the dataset can only be changed to a value for which the system has a privilege record.

A record's dataset cannot be changed in such a way that the system can no longer access the record.
The doas_dataset dialog box appears.

Base Message

Click (...) to select the Base Message for standard message set usage.

The selected message set must conform to the requirements for Flow Network Route message sets. For more information about these special message sets, see Understand Flow Network Route message sets.

Priority Display

Enter the name of a easy eXtended Operator Station (ezXOS) display. When a priority display is configured, Controllers will be able to navigate directly to a display from this Flow Network Route’s Control Panel, or any alarms generated by the route.

Historical

Click Historical to open a list of collect records associated with this record. For more information about the collect table, refer to Volume 1 of the RealTime Administrator documentation.

Source Flow Network

Click (…) to select the Flow Network (or a nested Flow Network) that contains the Source device or terminal (starting location) for this Flow Network Route.

Source

Click (…) to select the record that represents the Source device or terminal (starting location) for this Flow Network Route.

After clicking (...), the Path Selector appears. Select a table and a record from the available options. Until a table and a record are selected, you will not be able to selecting Accept. For more information about how to select a pathway, refer to Volume 1 of the RealTime Administrator documentation.

Note: Validation is performed to ensure that only the terminals or devices present in the Source Flow Network can be selected.

If it is found that the Source is not part of the Source Flow Network during operations, the state of the route will be Unknown and an error will be recorded in the AVEVA Enterprise SCADA Error Log.

Source and Destination belong to different Flow Networks

If this checkbox is selected, the Destination Flow Network field is enabled to allow the user to specify a Destination that does not belong to the same Flow Network as the Source. If this checkbox is not selected, the Destination Flow Network field is disabled.

Destination Flow Network

Click (…) to select the Flow Network (or a nested Flow Network) that contains the Destination device or terminal (ending location) for this Flow Network Route.

Notes: This is a mandatory field when it is enabled. The Destination Flow Network field is enabled when the Source and Destination belong to different Flow Networks checkbox is selected.

If Source and Destination belong to different Flow Networks checkbox field is not selected, the Destination Flow Network field is disabled and, when the record is saved, the Destination Flow Network will automatically be set to match the Source Flow Network.

Destination

Click (…) to select the record that represents the Destination device or terminal (ending location) for this Flow Network Route.

After clicking (...), the Path Selector appears. Select a table and a record from the available options. Until a table and a record are selected, you will not be able to select Accept. For more information about how to select a pathway, refer to Volume 1 of the RealTime Administrator documentation.

Note: The Destination Flow Network field is enabled only when the Source and Destination belong to different Flow Networks checkbox is selected.

Validation is performed to ensure that only the terminals or devices present in the Destination Flow Network can be selected.

If it is found that the Destination is not part of the Destination Flow Network during operations, the state of the route will be Unknown and an error will be recorded in the AVEVA Enterprise SCADA Error Log.

One Way Route

If this checkbox is enabled, then the Flow Network Route will only be considered to be connected when the Source is or is potentially flowing to the Destination.

If the Destination is flowing to the Source, then the route will be considered to be disconnected.

Certain information gathered from the terminal records provide indirect information about the nature of the flow direction.

If you are using batch transfer information as a Source or Destination, the Pipeline Task information gathered from the batchXfer record serves as the Flow Direction Indicator.

If you are using tank information as a Source or Destination, then the Flow Direction information gathered from the tank record serves as the Flow Direction Indicator.
