Access the Product Type Table Edit window

The Product Type (prodtype) table below allows you to define specific products and their properties. All prodtype records must reference a Product Group (prodgroup)record. A many to one relationship exists between prodtype and prodgroup. A product group can be associated with many product types.

To access the Product Type (prodtype) Table Edit window

1. In the Advanced Database Editor (ADE) window, select either the plus (+) icon or table icon next to the Product Group table row to expand the tree view and display all of the individual prodgroup records.

2. Double-click the record icon next to the Product Group record row that contains the product type information you want to access.

   The Product Type table associated with that product group appears under the Product Group record row.

   

3. Double-click the table icon next to the Product Type table.

   The prodtype Table Edit window appears.

   

4. Alternatively, to edit an existing prodtype record, simply expand the Product Type table on the ADE window and double click to select the single prodtype record that you would like to view.

5. A new product type may be added to this product group by clicking the Insert New Record icon.

   Alternatively, if you have opted to select a child record (by expanding the list of table records on the ADE window), you can create a new Product Type record through the following pathway: Record > New.
