Understand Invalid Operation checks

The Invalid Operation checks are made if the Drag Reducing Agent (DRA) Rate Management tab is configured. For more information, see Configure the Drag Reducing Agent Injector (DRAInjector) record.

There are two Invalid Operation checks:

  1. Target concentration check:

    1. The target DRA concentration to be achieved by controlling the injection rate must be greater than zero. If zero (or less), a violation exists.

  2. Minimum flow rate check:

    1. Up to four records providing flow rate readings and their direction of flow (receiving or delivering) may be assigned by the Administrator. Each assigned record is read for the flow rate. It is up to you to ensure that all sources of rate information are in consistent units. This check does not perform unit conversions.

    2. Total flow rate:

      Total flow rate calculation

    3. The minimum flow rate check is applied. The minimum flow rate is read from the configured Minimum Flow Rate field. If the total flow rate calculated is less than the minimum flow rate, a violation exists.

Note: An Advanced Logic Processor (ALP) record may be associated with each flow rate entry. The evaluated result of the ALP record will then be used to determine if the flow rate of the device will be included in the total flow rate calculations. If the evaluated result of the ALP record is equal to false, then the rate record is ignored.
