Valve open verification

BLT rule name: productTransferValveOpenVerify

This does the following:

• Determines if the valve is part of a valve network or not.

• In the cases where the valve is not part of a valve network, it will find all Product Transfer Checking (flowxfer) records where the valve controls the path.

• In the case where the valve is part of a network:

  • The rule will identify each source and destination in the network for which the valve open command would cause the path to become open.

  • The rule will find each flowxfer record using the source and destination pair identified.

• For each flowxfer record:

  • The rule will obtain information about the product or products at the source.

  • The rule will obtain information about the product or products at the destination.

  • For each possible combination of source and destination product, the rule will prompt the Product Compatibility utility to check if the source product can be added to the destination product.

  • If Product Compatibility returns one or more product incompatibilities, a rules violation exists.

• If any rules violations were found above, the rules violation condition is returned.
