The AVEVA Enterprise SCADA HMI application eXtended Editor (XE) includes a control object that can be added to any display called the Chart Control. The Chart Control can support plot-type charts that can be leveraged to display AVEVA Pipeline Operations for Liquids Hydraulic Profiles.
The Chart Control contains a configuration wizard to assist Display Editors with configuration of the Chart Control. For more information, refer to AVEVA Enterprise SCADA HMI Display Builder documentation.
When creating a hydraulic profile, each trend requires an individual pen to be created to define its configuration. In the example procedure described, the Chart Control Configuration wizard is used to configure a Flow Rate pen.
To configure a pen
-
From the Toolbox on XE, expand .NET Controls, and select Chart.
The OASyS DNA Chart Control Configuration wizard opens.

-
Select Add to create a new pen.
The pen is given a default name and is automatically added to the Configured Pens list.
-
Select the newly created pen.
The configuration options for the pen are enabled.

-
In the Pen Title field, enter the desired name for the pen.
-
From the Alias dropdown, select an alias.
-
From the Data Pattern dropdown, select a data pattern.
-
In the Parameter1 field, enter the name of the upstream node that defines the start location of the hydraulic profile.
-
In the Parameter2 field, enter the name of the downstream node that defines the end location of the hydraulic profile.
Note: Parameter1 and Parameter2 will define the range of a pipeline that is displayed by the hydraulic profile.
-
In the Parameter3 field, enter the trend that will be displayed on the plot. For more information on trend types that can be added to a hydraulic profile using AVEVA Pipeline Operations for Liquids, see Understand Hydraulic Profile line types or Bthydplot Business Logic Tier (BLT).
Note: If a generic display is being created, the Parameter1 and Parameter2 fields can be left blank and set programmatically at runtime through Visual Basic as specified in the following example:
