The following details a high-level overview of the necessary steps for creating a virtualflowcomputer record.
-
A virtualflowcomputer record is created where one of the following occurs:
-
A rate record exists that requires the additional data validation or volume correction.
-
A set of rate records exists representing parallel meters that need to have their data aggregated into a single volume counter and flow rate to be represented as a single point of flow.
For more information on creating a virtualflowcomputer record, see Open a Virtual Flow Computer record.

The standard fields required for any RealTime Database (RTDB) table are set (for more information, see Configure the Main tab of the Virtualflowcomputer record). This includes the following:
-
Name
-
Group
-
Dataset
-
Base Message

The Input Unit Profile field is used to assign units of measurement (also on the Main tab). This field is standard for AVEVA Pipeline Operations for Liquids applications. For more information, see Work with Unit Profiles.
