Post-installation configuration

Update ezXOS elements in the data root

The following procedure details how to update easy eXtended Operator Station (ezXOS) elements in the data directory (that is, %DNADataRoot%) on either the display source or the Display Edit Station (DES).

  1. Sign in as a member of DNA Installers.

  2. On the desktop, right-click the Windows PowerShell for DNA shortcut, and then select Run as administrator.

    Windows PowerShell for DNA opens.

  3. Run the following commands:

    Set-silo ezxos

    pdt -fo CNTL_TANK_LIMITS.XEM

    pdt -fo CNTL_TANK_CONTROL.XEM

    pdt -fo CNTL_TANK.XEM

Note: Updated XEM files are located in the %DNAInstallRoot%\Shared\elements\displays\lms directory.

    Update ADE changes

After installing the Advanced Database Editor (ADE) MSI versions, proceed as follows:

    1. On the desktop, right-click the Windows PowerShell for DNA shortcut, and then select Run as administrator.

    2. Run the following commands:

      Set-silo ADE

      DBEditDisplayschemaMerge.exe -f Schema

      Fixed issues

      The following issues were fixed.

      ID

      Description

      Case–960666007

      (Defect–4960215 and 4286540)

This defect fix addresses an issue where an Administrator was unable to create a Batch Transfer or a Tank record on a non-owning system even if it had configuration privileges.

      Case–962672253

      (Defect–4417987)

This defect fix addresses an issue where cloning an existing Product Type record in Advanced Database Editor (ADE) to create a new one did not include the Andrade correlation factors, which caused hydraulic profile calculations to report NaN errors (that is, not a number) for dynamic viscosity.

      Case–962719599

      (Defect–4566685)

This defect fix addresses an issue where reversing the flow direction of a pipeline could cause previously completed batches to be reinserted into the Batch Tracking model.

      Case–962819245

      (Defect–4773747)

This defect fix addresses an issue where Batch Transfer calculations did not perform the required unit conversion on the density reading if the underlying source was set to a rate point.

      Case–962823757

      (Defect–4773736)

This defect fix addresses an issue where an unhandled exception was thrown when right-clicking was performed on the top-left cell of the Strapping Elements DataGridView.

      Case–962829259

      (Defect–4793507)

This defect fix addresses an issue where the Product Transfer Checking (flowXfer) application was unable to find the product at the pipeline location specified as the destination in the flowXfer record.

      Case–962836196

      (Defect–4865015)

This defect fix addresses an issue where Pipeline Monitor (PLM) could backfill outage recovery data and raise recovery events before confirming a calculation cycle was valid.

If a stale or invalid device was later detected, only a partial rollback occurred, leaving inconsistent Historical data, daily totals, and recovery events that could contribute to false PLM deviation alarms.

      Case–962836633

      (Defect–4846540)

This defect addresses an issue where a PLM volume device associated with a tank lost its configured path as a result of locking contention.

      Case–962869490

      (Defect–4914357)

This defect fix addresses an issue where Controllers were unable to submit level values in the Tank Scratch Pad using the inch format XX-XX-XX.

      Case–962880761

      (Defect–4960220)

This defect fix addresses an issue where, when PLM deviation alarms were inhibited due to the hold-off period being in effect, the Inhibit column in the event summary displayed the associated alarm as Uninhibited. With this fix, the Inhibit column now displays Application Specific.

In the Historical database, this means that the alarmInhibitTypeRefId column in the Event.dbo.OperActivitySummary table will now show a value of 2 instead of 0.

      Case–962890119

      (Defect–4949719)

This defect fix addresses an issue where dump files were generated during PLM record cloning.

      Case–962896079

      (Defect–5065164)

This defect addresses an issue where an error was generated when changing an alarm limit on a tank record configured with 16th-inch strap levels. The root cause was a change in the alarm level comparison logic from a string comparison to numeric comparison. This fix reverts the comparison back to string-based comparison to correctly support levels expressed in these fractional inch formats.

      Known issues

The following known issues were open at the time of this release.

      Description

      Workaround (If Applicable)

On initial start up of RealTime, unhandled exceptions in ReflexSubscribeCallback may be observed. This behavior does not prevent the normal functioning of the Reflex application.

      None.

When associated with a Valve object, RealTime failover may log a CompareFieldTypes Business Logic Tier (BLT) failure error while evaluating an Advanced Logic Processor (ALP) expression. This is an intermittent failure and can be observed in the new Standby system after a failover.

The error is logged when a BLT call is made while the RealTime service is in a premature state and unable to process the PubSub request. This behavior does not prevent the normal evaluation of the ALP expression.

      None.

If Batch Tracking Compiler (BTC) changes are made to a pipeline while replication to the non-owning site is down, referential issues can cause system alarms to appear on the backup site when the connectivity is restored.

      None.

A very high flow rate is observed at the accumulator when the associated rate point provides a negative flow rate reading.

This known issue results from selecting the following values when configuring a Batch Transfer:

      • When configuring the rate record (the record feeding the Accumulator), the record is specified as a telemetered pulse rate that does not have software accumulation enabled.

      • When configuring the Accumulator (the record feeding the Virtual Flow Computer [VFC]), the record is specified with the previous pulse counter (rate) capable of going backwards, a volume accumulation mode that allows positive and negative flow, and a maximum reasonable reverse flow rate (vol/h) that allows backwards flow.

      • When configuring the Batch Transfer, the record is configured using the VFC specified above as a source.

If the above conditions are true, it is possible for the VFC to interpret a backwards moving pulse rate as negative flow. In addition, because the VFC is attached to a Batch Transfer, it is possible for the Batch Transfer to accumulate a negative volume from an individual device. This will cause the Batch Transfer to show a large value in the following fields: Flowrate, Volume To Go, Measured GSV, and NSV. This is most likely to occur if the negative movement in the pulse rate is observed immediately after a ticket split.

Confirm that each Accumulator is configured as Positive Only Volume Accumulation Mode to prevent the Accumulator from being able to roll backwards.

      User documentation

For the AVEVA Pipeline Operations for Liquids 2025 Patch 2 release, only documentation that was directly affected by a defect fix is included. User documentation addendums are no longer included as part of patch deliverables.
