The Main tab of the Drag Reducing Agent Injector (DRAInjector) record is used to define the basic details of the record.

To configure the Main tab of the DRAInjector record

  1. Open the DRAInjector record. For more information on opening a DRAInjector record, see Opening the Drag Reducing Agent Injector (DRAInjector) Record.

The DRAInjector Row Edit dialog appears.

    DRAInjector Row Edit dialog

  2. In the Name field, enter a name for your DRAInjector record.

  3. (Optional) In the Description field, enter a description for the DRAInjector record.

  4. To indicate that the DRAInjector record is safety-related, select the Safety Related checkbox.

  5. In the Group field, click (...) to select the associated group that the record belongs to. Groups are used to associate individual telemetry points with areas of responsibility. A group record provides a logical grouping of remotes and attached end-devices.

  6. In the Dataset field, click (...) to select the name of the dataset you want to associate with this record. A dataset contains privileges assigned for each system and mode. Once a record is assigned to a data set value, the dataset can only be changed to a value for which the system has a privilege record. A record’s dataset cannot be changed in such a way that the system can no longer access the record.

  7. In the Base Message field, click (...) to select the message set for this record. The DRA Injector is the message set created for the application. However, it is possible to use a different message set, or create your own. For more information, refer to Volume 1 of the RealTime Administrator documentation.

  8. In the Priority Display field, enter the name of the graphic that you would like to associate with an easy eXtended Operator Station (ezXOS) display when the point goes into alarm.

  9. (Optional) In the Point Class field, click (...) to configure the DRA Injector point class.

  10. (Optional) In the Point SubClass field, click (...) to configure the DRA Injector point subclass.

Note:The Point Class field is used to allow you to configure alarm severity. For more information about the Point Class and Point SubClass fields, refer to Volume 1 of the RealTime Administrator documentation.

  11. In the DRA Injector Group field, click (...) to select the DRA Injector Group you would like this record associated with.

Note: The DRA Injector Group field is necessary when configuring the Rate Management tab for the Setpoint Lookup method.

  12. (Optional) From the DRA Injector Fluid Type dropdown list, select the fluid type that best fits the fluid that will flow through this injector.

  13. (Optional) To disable the DRA Injector, select the Disable Injector checkbox.

If, for example, Disable Injector is selected and you attempt to make the status or multistate point change states (from OPEN to CLOSE, for example), the Rules Validation Engine (RVE) will prevent the state change.

If Disable Injector is selected, but there is no RVE rule configured, it will still be possible to start the DRA Injector.

If Disable Injector is enabled, this does not shut down the injector unless you have also selected Automatic DRA Shutdown Enable.

Controllers can also set their own version of this flag, with the same effects; however, if this checkbox is selected, the Controller will be unable to change the setting.

  14. (Optional) To enable the Automatic DRA shutdown on a violation, select the Automatic DRA Shutdown on a Violation checkbox.

Note: If the Automatic DRA Shutdown on a Violation checkbox is selected, the following conditions will be monitored and the DRA Injector will be shut down in the event that they take place:
    — Upstream product violation
    — Flow rate violation
    — Density violation
    — Additional Violation (this can be based on information supplied by third-party batch trackers).
However, if you have not configured the details for a specific violation, the check cannot be performed, and accordingly, no shutdown will take place. (For example, if the Minimum Flow Rate on the DRA Rate Management Check tab is not configured, the DRA Automatic Shutdown will not be able to look for Flow Rate violations and will not shut down.)

  15. (Optional) In the Display Order field, enter a value to customize the display order of the DRAInjector records.

  16. In the Status/Multistate/Pump Point field of the DRA Control section, click (...) to select the status, multistate, or pump point that you would like to associate the record with.

  17. In the Running States field, enter the states that would indicate that the DRA injector is presently running. These states must be separated by commas.

  18. In the Stopped States field, enter the states that would indicate that the DRA injector is presently stopped. These states must be separated by commas.

  19. In the Start Command field, enter the start command.

  20. In the Shutdown Command field, enter the shutdown command.

  21. Select State Configuration to configure the Running and Stopped states. This supplies the information defined in the message set.
