The Batch Completion Command is a common set of steps that are executed as part of Batch Start, Batch Split, or Batch Stop commands.

To issue a Batch Completion command for a Host-Managed location

  1. If resulting from Controller action, a final calculation/processing cycle for the active batch may be run. For more information, see Work with the active batch processor calculations applied to the data.

  2. Hourly inventory data for the batch is sent to Historical. For more information, see Understand hourly data.

  3. The Completion Time field of the active batch will indicate the completion time of the action.

  4. A copy of the active batch data and the data from each input device is saved as a completed ticket in the RealTime database (RTDB). The completed ticket previously saved for the batch transfer location is deleted. This is provided in the RTDB for any external applications (such as Batch Tracking) that need to read the closing volume information for the batch.

  5. A copy of the active batch data and the data from each input device is saved as a completed ticket record in Historical. For more information, see Understand completed ticket data.

  6. If Batch Aggregation is enabled on the Batch Transfer, the aggregation values for the previous batch are sent to the Historical database. The aggregation values for the new active batch will be reset to zero before they start accumulating data.
