The Pump Control dialog can be used to perform the following tasks:

  • To view more detailed information on the current state of a pump.

  • To Run or Stop the pump.

  • To set the Logic Mode of the pump, which affects how the pump is used in the Line Blockage application.

To access the Pump Control dialog

  • Select a row header from the Pump Summary window.

The Pump Control dialog will appear and will display data corresponding to the row that was clicked.

The following table lists the items on the Pump Control dialog.

Field

Description

Name

The name of the object. This is the same as what is displayed on the summary.

Description

The description of the object. The is the same as what is displayed on the summary.

State

The current state of the object. By default, the pump application uses the following names; however, they are defined by the message set on the pump record:

  • RUN

  • STOP

  • IDLE

  • ERR

  • STARTING

  • STOPPING

Blockage

A red label that appears only if the Line Blockage application detects that the pump flow is blocked in at least one direction (by lack of available flow paths, or line capacity).

PLC State

This field indicates the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) state of the pump.

Last Krunch

The last time this object was krunched and updated.

Logic Mode

The Logic Mode of the pump. This affects how the object is understood and used by the Line Blockage/Flow Network application. It is changed by selecting an option from the dropdown menu and pressing the Set button. An optional timeout can be configured in the Advanced Database Editor (ADE) for this so that when it is changed to a non-default value, after some time has elapsed, the device will revert to the default logic mode. There are four possible states:

  • In Service: Default state. Selecting the In Service state indicates that the pump should be used normally throughout any of its member flow networks.

  • Out of Logic: The Controller does not want line blockages calculated for this pump. This pump is not accounted for in the operation of the Line Blockage/Flow Network applications. However, commands can still be sent to it.

  • Out of Service Running: The Controller does not want line blockages calculated for this pump. The pump will not be accounted for in the operation of the Line Blockage/Flow Network applications. The major difference between the Out of Logic and the Out of Service Running is that, in the Out of Service Running state, the pump will always appear to the Flow Network application as being in the RUN state, and no commands may be sent to it.

  • Out of Service Stopped: The Controller does not want line blockages calculated for this pump. The pump will not be accounted for in operations of the Line Blockage/Flow Network applications. The major difference between the Out of Logic and the Out of Service Stopped state is that, in the Out of Service Stopped state, the pump will always appear to the Flow Network application as being in the STOP state, and no commands may be sent to it.

Run

Selecting this button will send a command to the pump state to change the RUN state for the pump. This depends on the pump being In Service or Out of Logic (OOL) and the underlying status or multistate record's Has Output checkbox value being configured to true.

Stop

Clicking this button will send a command to the pump state to change the STOP state for the pump. This depends on the pump being In Service or Out of Logic (OOL) and the underlying status or multistate record's Has Output checkbox value being configured to true.

Event Summary

This is a list of all events associated with the pump and underlying status or multistate point. If the status or multistate record is not configured, this is a list of all events associated with the pump point.

Point Alarm Summary

This is a list of all current alarms associated with the underlying status or multistate point. If the status or multistate record is not configured, this is a list of all alarms associated with the pump point.

Tag Summary

Open the Tag Summary for the telemetry point associated with this pump. For more information about Operator Tagging, refer to the AVEVA Enterprise SCADA HMI Controller documentation.

Priority Display

Opens the associated priority display. For more information about the priority display, refer to the AVEVA Enterprise SCADA HMI Controller documentation.

Verification Control

Opens the Point Verification Control dialog. This allows you to enter Point to Point Verification results, create pending or approved verification records, and save the results to the CRM database.

Underlying Point Control

Opens the control panel for the underlying status or multistate point.
