Each product group, defined using the prodgroup table, has its own Netting Algorithm defined. The Netting Algorithm is the method used to get the corrected volume, usually by applying correction factors. Correction factors are CTL (correction factor from the temperature correction tables), CPL (correction factor from the pressure correction tables), and MCF (mechanical correction factor applied when volume is measured by a turbine meter). In addition, there is a combined temperature and pressure factor (CTPL) that is calculated by multiplying CTL and CPL that is only used for API2004. It is calculated by multiplying and rounding the result of the CTL and the CPL.
The Netting Algorithm is applied to volumes generated by the Metering application and the Linepack component of the Batch Tracking application. Correction in the Tanking application is handled within the application since only CTL is applied. Application of Volume Correction According to Netting Type describes how the correction is applied according to the Netting Algorithm selected.
