Follow this procedure to start and stop a manual countdown to a target, and to move it (when necessary) into the complete state.
For the Manual Countdown Type, all operations are initiated by you. The following diagram illustrates the state transitions that occur as part of the Manual Countdown Type:

Before you begin
Complete the steps in Schedule a countdown target.
Note: Before you can start a new countdown, the current countdown must either a) first reach its target, and then be manually moved into the completed state, or b) be stopped before reaching its target, and then manually moved into the completed state.
To run a manual countdown
-
On the Countdown Control dialog, check if the Current Countdown is still active and counting up (the Progress value exceeds the Target value).

-
Select Stop, and then Complete.
The current countdown moves to the Previous Countdown column, and the pending countdown moves to the Current Countdown column with the Mode Stopped.

-
Select Start.
The countdown starts.
Note: If you stop and re-start a countdown, it starts over from zero.
When the volume and time reach the values indicated in the Warning fields, the following fields take on a yellow background:
-
Flow Rate
-
Time to Target (hh:mm)
-
Starting Count
When the target is reached, these same fields take on a red background. The colored backgrounds indicate the generation of applicable alarms.

-
-
When the system reaches the target, select Stop.
If a pending countdown exists, the Complete button becomes available. If desired, you can then move the current countdown to completed mode and repeat the above steps for a new countdown.
