Import design data to a project

Importing design data is restricted to the type of data applicable for the current application. If a Transfer Set contains mixed data, it may be necessary to switch modules to complete the import.
You are able to choose which elements from the Transfer Set to import. The application recreates imported design elements in the target project, taking into account their references, associations, and topology. Drawings are also recreated while maintaining and updating the references to the design elements.
Import design data to a project
Before you begin, ensure the project open you want to import data into is open.
-
On the Tools tab, in the Design Reuse group, select Design Reuse.
The Design Reuse window opens:

-
Select Import.
The Select transfer Set window opens.

-
Select the Transfer Set to be imported.
-
Select OK.
The Design Reuse window displays the items stored in the Transfer Set:

By default, all items from the Transfer Set are selected for import.
-
Select the checkbox beside any item you do not want to import.
For example, you can exclude items that already exist in the target project:

-
(Optional) To assign a different name to an entity than the one used in the export source project, double-click its name in the Name column.

-
Select Import.
The system starts importing data from the Transfer Set folder into the target project.
When the import is complete, the Import Result dialog appears:

In the Design Reuse window, green checks indicate successfully imported items:

All imported models appear in the 3D View automatically.
-
If you are satisfied with the import, select Save Work in the Project tab. Otherwise, select Undo or exit the application without saving to restore the project to its previous state.
