The Unfolding configuration window is used for plate development. See Unfolder plate development for more information on unfolding.

Unfolder selection
Unfolder : Defines the unfolder method to use.
Version: Sets an identifying version name or number for this unfolding configuration, if desired.
Unfolding Options
Plate surface position

Inner: Defines the position of the inner surface of the plate.

Neutral: Defines the position of the neutral surface of the plate, which is half of the plane thickness by default.

Outer: Defines the position of the outer surface of the plate.
Forming options: Defines the plate forming method to be used.
Raw plate margin: Defines the additional material allowance added around the developed plate boundary to account for the raw plate that the developed plate needs to be nested on.
Roll axis: Enable to to include roll axis information as part of the unfolding calculation.
The following options become available when the classic unfolding method is selected:
Strip Control: Defines how the plate is divided into strips during development. The plate is partitioned along the baseline into intervals of equal length. Each strip is restricted by two planar strip curves (the end strips by edges 1 and 3, respectively).
Strip Direction: Defines the orientation of the strips.
No. of strips: Defines the number of strips to use.
Neutral plane loc. factor: Defines how the neutral surface is calculated for plate unfolding. The default factor is 0.5, which means the system will use the surface at the middle of the plate and half of the plate thickness.
Base line: Select an option to define the location of the base line.

Default: Select to use the system defined base line.

Optimized: Select to automatically calculate a baseline.

Manual: Select to define a specific base line and enter its value in the text box.
