  • 2 minute read

Defines the direction label configuration that optimizes the label placement on a panel when the label conflicts with outer contour, other labels or geometry.

Guide Diagram

Shows a visual representation of how directions are defined in the model.

Labels

Defines the extrema on a direction where the direction label can be placed to avoid conflict with outer contour, other labels or geometry.

The extrema are predefined as follows:

MaximumZ

TOP

Top side of the element.

MinimumZ

BOTTOM

Bottom side of the element.

MaximumX

FOR

Forward side of the element.

MinimumX

AFT

Afterward side of the element.

CenterY

CL

Center line of the element.

MaximumY

PS

Port side the of element.

MinimumZ

SB

Star board side of the element.

All extrema checkboxes are selected by default. This means the application considers two directions on a panel. For example, if a plate lies in the X/Y plane, the application does not consider the maximum or minimum Z directions. Although Minimum directions are selected, the application uses only the Maximum directions for labelling.

If you clear a checkbox, the application does not consider the direction and does place a label the on the panel for that direction.

The label heights are defined in the Part Label Definition, on the Label Types tab. For mor information, see Label Types tab.
