Validate Ancillaries

Checks ancillaries to verify compliance with the rules and application defaults.

An ancillary chosen via rules is always valid at the moment of selection. However, it is still important to understand why it was selected and to verify future model or rule changes do not invalidate it.

Validate Ancillaries

1. In the Model Supports application, on the Supports tab, in the Tools group, select Validate Ancillaries.

   The application collects all ancillaries from the current hierarchy position and displays them in the Validate Ancillaries window:

   

   The columns displayed in the table include:

   Main Element Name	Name of the main owning element of the compref
   Support Name	Name of the SUPPO that owns the ancillary
   Ancillary Name	Name of the ancillary
   Stype	Stype of ancillary
   Description	Description of ancillary
   Frame Type	Framework Standard
   Rule Validity	Checks if the selected ancillary complies with the rules
   Rlogic	The Rlogic that eventually returned the ancillary result
   App Defaults Validity	Checks if the ancillary complies with the application defaults
   Material	Checks if the material of the compref complies with the material defaults
   Bore/Size	Checks if the bore/size of the compref complies with the bore/size defaults
   Temperature	Checks if the temperature of the compref complies with the temperature defaults
   Insulation Thickness	Checks if the insulation thickness of the compref complies with the insulation thickness defaults
   Is Vertical	Checks if the direction of the compref complies with the direction defaults

   Hidden columns that can be added to the table include:

   Ancillary Replacement Name	Name of the ancillary replacement
   MDU Db	MDU Description
   Frame Replacement Name	Name of the frame replacement

2. To choose which columns to display, right-click the column heading row, then select Show/Hide Column. Displayed columns are indicated with a check mark.

Check the results for unset defaults

If a property appears as unset in the table, and a more appropriate ancillary would have been chosen if that property was specified, then the catalog administrator must update the component property in the project catalog database. To navigate to the component in the Model Explorer and view its properties, right-click in the table and select Component Reference.
